“Living simply makes loving simple.”
As I reflect on what started me on this minimalist journey I can directly tie it to my divorce from my first husband in 2014. I wrote extensively about how stuff shapes our lives (Part 1 and Part 2) as I was processing my experiences.
While the circumstances starting my minimalist journey are not exactly the stuff of dreams, I could not be happier with how it has helped shape my life in a positive way ever since.
Practicing capsule wardrobes led me to think about ethical fashion and being very purposeful in knowing where my clothes come from and who makes them.
Living minimally helped me move smoothly across the country.
Only owning things I love makes for a much happier home.
Being minimal in my clothes and things helped calm me and energize me. In turn I became a less anxious person and also found that I am a better partner.
